Is it worth replacing Silver Amalgam Fillings with White Fillings?

What is the Procedure?

An advantage with White Fillings is that usually no drilling is needed – however this will depend on the patients tooth. Your dentist will thoroughly clean the tooth before etching the surface with a gel so that a liquid can be used to attach the composite material to the tooth in smooth layers. The composite material is then cured (set) using a bright light and is shaped and polished, leaving you with a natural looking tooth.
