Gum Lift

Sometime patients are wary of their smile not because of their teeth but because of their gums. Low or uneven gums are more common than you think and there is an easy fix! A gum life is a simple and painless way to improve a gummy smile.

How does it work?

The gums surrounding teeth are part of the soft tissue that lines the mouth. This procedure involves numbing the area via local anaesthetic and using a small accurate laser to reshape the gum line. Each tooth is done individually and there is no bleeding as the diode laser seals the blood vessels. However there is a limit to the amount of gum that can be removed, as we want to make sure that it is performed in a safe manner. Rest assured, we can usually remove enough to make a big difference to your smile.

Are there any side effects?

Generally the procedure is very well tolerated, however some patients may experience a bit of discomfort that lasts a few days. This can be easily remedied with normal painkillers such as paracetamol.
