Cosmetic Bonding

The process of cosmetic bonding involves using a tooth coloured resin to improve the appearance of front teeth. It is used to repair chipped, fractured, or discoloured teeth and unlike dental veneers, bonding can be done in a single visit. The composite resin used can be shaped and polished to match the surrounding teeth and is often used for aesthetic purposes.

Dental bonding involves first selecting the correct resin colour to match the shade of the tooth. The existing tooth may then be lightly sanded or in many cases no preparation is needed at all. The resin in then applied to the tooth in layers, allowing your dentist to achieve the correct shape and height. Once the composite is ready to be hardened, a UV light is applied that also bonds it to the tooth surface. Finally the material is polished, leaving you with a tooth with looks and feels natural.

The whole process can be performed in under an hour with no requirement for any anaesthetic and is completely pain free. To arrange a free consultation, please contact our reception team to arrange an appointment at your convenience.
