Half Price Dental Hygienist Visits in Greenwich

Take advantage of our special offer - it really makes sense!

Having a good regular dental hygiene routine that we adhere to, is a vitally important part of maintaining the good health of our mouth and teeth.

If we adopt a ‘prevention is better than cure’ approach, this should hopefully mean that we end up having fewer dental problems, which hopefully results in less time spent in the dental surgery receiving treatment. However, our oral hygiene habits are often those that we learned from our parents when we were children and these therefore aren’t necessarily considered to be best practice in the world of modern dentistry.

When you visit our Greenwich based hygienist, she will thoroughly inspect your teeth and mouth, and will recommend any changes that she considers are necessary to improve your hygiene regimen; so helping you to keep your teeth in excellent condition.

The hygienist will also make suggestions to you based around your lifestyle habits. These may include such things as your diet, alcohol consumption, and whether you smoke or not. Each of these things can have an adverse effect on the health of your teeth and gums.

Lifestyle choices

Excessive smoking and alcohol consumption for instance, are both believed to be contributory in the development of various types of oral cancer. Smoking has also long been thought to be contributory as a cause of gum disease. So quitting smoking and moderating alcohol intake are only going to improve your oral as well as your general health.

How often?

Most dentists would recommend a regular visit to see their hygienist, possibly as frequently as once every six months. During the consultation, the hygienist will examine your teeth, and they will probably carry out a thorough professional cleaning of your teeth, otherwise known as a ‘scale and polish’. This will remove plaque and tarter build up from your teeth, and from around the gum line.

This procedure is vital in helping to prevent gingivitis and periodontitis (gum disease), which is caused by the build-up of plaque. Gum disease if it is left untreated, is a major factor in tooth loss.

A scale and polish will also leave your mouth and teeth both looking, and feeling much cleaner and fresher.

To celebrate the relocation of our Greenwich dental clinic to new premises, we are currently offering a special half price discount on the price of a consultation with our hygienist.
