How You Can Benefit From A Mini Smile Makeover in Greenwich
When your teeth look OK, but you feel there is some room for improvement.
Whilst patients who have missing teeth, or teeth that are badly crooked, might require a more detailed smile makeover to correct their smile; for many patients, the requirements are less extensive.
At the Confidental Clinic in Greenwich, we provide a mini smile makeover for patients who are generally happy with their teeth, but who also feel that there are some minor corrections which they would like to make to perfect their smile. Below, we look at some of the treatments that are used by our Greenwich cosmetic dentists, to improve a patient’s teeth in this type of situation.
Teeth whitening
This is one of the most commonly used cosmetic dental procedures at our practice and one which offers an entirely non invasive way of really sprucing up the appearance of your teeth. It is especially effective for patients whose teeth have started to darken with age and can restore the whiteness by up to eight shades.
Dental Veneers
Dental veneers can be used to restore teeth that have become heavily stained or have received minor damage such as chips or cracks. They are also effective for increasing the length of worn down teeth and can even be used to close the gap between front teeth in some circumstances. Whilst this procedure is more invasive than the above, it also offers great flexibility to resolve a number of aesthetic dental issues.
Cosmetic bonding
Using cosmetic dental bonding to restore teeth is an entirely pain free and relatively straightforward, albeit highly-skilled process. It is an excellent way for restoring teeth that are generally in good condition but which may have received a small chip, for example. A resin is made to match the colour of the affected tooth and this is then applied, shaped and hardened using a UV light.
Dental crowns
Dental crowns are often used where a tooth has suffered more extensive damage, such as when a section of the tooth has broken off. The affected tooth is shaped and an impression is then taken of it. From the impression, a porcelain crown is produced at a dental laboratory, in a shade that matches the rest of the tooth. This is then attached to the prepared tooth using a strong dental adhesive which should bond the crown to the tooth securely for many years to come.
